In homage to screen siren, Rita Hayworth, we present our new 1940s style evening/cocktail dress in quality scarlet red crepe (with a hint of stretch).
Glamourous and nostalgic - this dress takes its influence from American 40s Hollywood wartime styles but with a bit of film noir thrown in.
Dress has a classic 1940s sweetheart neckline with grown on sleeves to give the iconic 40s silhouette. Two darts under the bust to nip in at the waist. A supremely flattering neckline for all sizes. Elegant waterfall design sarong skirt is again an iconic American 40s style and creates flattering ruching on the tummy.

This dress is very accommodating on hip but fitted on the waist and semi fitted on the bust.
Therefore we suggest you choose your size based on these areas. There is 'comfort' stretch in the fabric.
This is a great dress for pillar, hourglass, pear and will balance inverted triangles.

Heartbreak for me with this dress. I tried the size 8 in bottle green previously as I own 4 of the waterfall skirts; a godsend for pear-shaped ladies crying over pencil skirts everywhere. I take an 8 in the waterfall skirt at 26'' waist, but found that the size 8 Hayworth would not zip up over my 34'' bust. Sadly, the size 10 was definitely far too big on me and I lost all the lovely, flattering effect of the smaller size, even with a belt to draw the waist in. I've concluded this cut is just not for me and I would definitely recommend taking both waist and bust size into account when choosing your size.
