A must for forties fans - this is a classic 1940s dress we have called 'Ingrid' in homage to the Casablanca actress Ingrid Bergman.
Based on an original American vintage dress from the 1940s, this is a classically simple shape designed to show off the stunning print which is also based on an original.
The beauty of the dress is the simplicity of the bodice, a very typical 1940s feature. Soft grown on sleeves which hug the shoulder give you the option to add shoulder pads if you really want to emphasise a 1940s look. The high sweetheart shape neckline is flattering but demure. Skirt is a typically lean 1940s skirt but has enough swing to float you through any dance. Also note the lovely 1940s waistline feature of two rounded tabs.
This dress is a real head turner - stunningly simple and very forties.

Glorious print. Great shape. Well made. Love the side zip and the sleeves that cover the shoulders (and don't show your bra at the sides). Having no back zip makes for ease of movement. The photos don't do it justice, somehow - so, if you're tempted - then buy and try, I'd say.
Don't often buy dresses at this price point, but the intense print just blows cheaper dresses away. Cut is flattering but not constricting and the whole look is very elegant. Not disappointed! The dress is unlined and for the price it would've been nice to get a lining hence 4 stars not 5. Still worth it for the swishy but not full circle skirt and mini peplum detail in the front. The dress is cold hand wash only. Looks great with t bar shoes. I will most probably order another item from Foxy once I've saved up!
