50s Perfect Pencil Skirt - Black

Love this skirt. True to size. It sits on your waist. Just below the belly button and finished below my knee. The pleat at the back gave it a quality finish. I wore it with a black blouse and heals to a funeral. I felt sad but respectful and when they played Nat King Cole I knew my uncle would have approved.

I love this skirt! I went out on a limb here as I live in America and buying from the UK can be a pain, plus I've been looking for a skirt like this for AGES and they always seem to come up short. I wanted a high waisted black Pencil skirt that was long enough and didn't have a slit that went halfway up the thigh in the back. But I also didn't want to look like a grandma! I decided I'd go for this since the return policy seemed really good.

I normally am a size 8 in UK sizes but went with the 10 since it matched my measurements. This was another risk as I have done this many times with American clothes, I usually wear a small, but my measurements almost always compare with a medium according to manufacturer's and everytime I go with teh medium because of the measurement it seems to be too big! However this fit's Perfectly! The skirt has super easy care, washable and dryable, and not only that, it's virtually wrinkle proof. When I pulled it out of the box it came in it was very creased from travel, but I hung it in my closet overnight and the next day it looked perfect!

The fabric looks high quality and expensive which I'm very happy with and it feels like a good quality as well.

There are only two things that are even slightly negative I have to say. The first being it's a little too long for me. This is obviously a personal issue as I'm only 5'4" and being short that's just the way it goes! Getting an inch or two taken off the bottom will be simple and cheap too so I'm not bothered and will be buying the red one as well!

The other thing is just an odd one for me. I had the hardest time finding the care instructions. They are in fact attached to the lining of the skirt on the inside. so I had to flip the skirt inside out and then flip the lining right side out, to find them. I imagine this is to avoid an itchy tag, but it seemed strange to me. Not really a negative though. All in all I am so ready to buy ALL my clothes here now if I only had the money.
