Our best selling 1940s swing pants - 10 years in the making!

These have been painstakingly researched and are adapted from a late 30s pattern. With a few tweaks here and there, the pattern has been altered enough to fit the modern woman and our modern eye without compromising the vintage details.

A flattering tailored high waisted with four lovely quality mock shell buttons on the left. Wide leg with turn-up at the bottom. So comfy and perfect for dancing!

Key vintage features:-
- high waisted
- 4 button fastening on side
- turn up
- wide leg

These are produced in a high quality mid weight fabric, warm but breatheable. Viscose/poly mix with a little bit of spandex for stretch, hand wash recommended.

Inside leg 31 inches, select size by natural waist measurements.

Made in Yorkshire, England

These trousers are high waisted - going approx. 1 inch above natural waist. Trousers can be harder to fit people due to there being extra measurements to consider such as body length as well as waist, hip and thigh. However, this style has proved very popular and seems to fit people well.

The leg width isn't as wide as our 30s styles (fabric wasn't as readily available in the 40s!) but measures 56cms at the widest leg width part on our size 10.

So - we advise to choose by waist size but also to consider hip and your thigh measurement. This is not a great style for pear shapes but great for pillar shapes or inverted triangles.

Our trousers are made with fabric that has a touch of stretch in it. This means that there is some margin if your measurements don't come up exactly like our size guide.

For more information on fit and sizing please visit our size guide. The measurements refer to 'your' body not the garment itself. Please choose the size that most reflects your measurements.

I'm glad I snapped these up as green is my favourite colour and I had to have something in a more vintage style.

The material is lovely and soft but take care to not snag them or have anything slightly abrasive against them. Cat claws are my main worry with snags!

The fit is excellent. I bought the 8 and am 164cm tall. In bare feet these do trail slightly but pop on a pair of low heels or flatforms (I know, not 40s style but I have a brogue pair of flatforms so they are a modern twist) and I don't have to take them up. They hang nicely, the fit around my hips and waist is great, comfortable with room to sit. What's better is that this is the first pair of high-waisted trousers that have been flattering on me. I like the buttons off to the side as they are such a nice feature.

I will be wearing these to work, for casual and for some nights out by matching a suitable top. I would love to get these in black and maybe navy. I'm a fan!

I love the color, the fit and how I feel when wearing them. I have them in brown too and the brown pair got their first mending after 2 years when the seam in the groin connecting the legs together was worn out. Fabric gets quite quickly burled if your thighs touch when you walk, and same goes for if you have a bag on you hip. I also had to re-attach a few buttons after wearing them 5-6 times, so the quality is not that fantastic, but as it should be considering the good price. Overall happy with my pants. :)

I am an hourglass shape, 170 cm tall and the pants flatter my waist and works soo good with both heels and flats. I match it with short-waisted knitwear on the colder days. I want this in some cool tartan pattern too, or a grey wool-blend!
